Guidance on Booking Your First Session

Welcome! Taking the first step toward therapy is a meaningful decision, and I’m here to make the process as simple and comfortable as possible.

You can book an initial consultation via phone or email—choose the method that feels right for you. I understand that reaching out can sometimes feel overwhelming, but know that this is a step toward healing and growth. In our first session, we will explore your concerns in a safe and supportive space, setting the foundation for your journey toward well-being

Booking by Phone

I am available for calls during my normal office hours, 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday to Friday. If I am unavailable, please leave a message with your contact details and the best times to reach you, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

When calling, ensure you have privacy and set aside 10 to 20 minutes for the conversation. You don’t need to go into detail about your concerns—just a brief description is enough. However, if you feel comfortable and believe it would be helpful, you are welcome to share more.

A phone conversation can help you get a sense of how comfortable you feel speaking with me, giving you an idea of what therapy sessions would be like. It’s also an opportunity to ask any questions and discuss practical details, such as location and session structure.

Booking by e-mail

Confidentiality applies to all the information you share with me, whether in person or via email.

I aim to respond to emails promptly, usually within 4 hours. Email can be a helpful way to explore whether I am the right therapist for you, ask questions, or clarify if I work with your specific concerns. It also allows you to take your time in making a decision without pressure.

To provide a meaningful response, please include a brief overview of why you are seeking therapy, along with any questions you may have. Typically, we will exchange 2 to 3 emails, though more may be needed in some cases. I may also share insights into how I would approach your concerns and provide helpful resources if relevant. If you feel it would be beneficial, we can also arrange a time for a phone call.

To confirm your booking, please include a contact number. Once scheduled, I will share location details and any necessary guidance for your visit.

Your First Session

It is completely natural to feel a little nervous before your first session. This is a new step, and I am here to ensure that you feel comfortable and supported from the very beginning.

When you arrive, I will personally greet you and welcome you into the space. If you have any difficulty finding the location, please don’t hesitate to contact me—I am happy to guide you over the phone or even step outside to help you find your way. If you are running late, just let me know.

We will begin by reviewing the counselling agreement and addressing any initial questions you may have. This usually takes around 10 to 15 minutes. The remainder of the session will be dedicated to exploring what has brought you here. Some individuals prefer to dive right in, while others take a more gradual approach—I will always work at a pace that feels right for you.

As we near the end of our time together, we will reflect on how the session felt for you and discuss whether you’d like to continue. If you choose to move forward, we may also outline areas to focus on in future sessions. This first conversation is just the beginning of your journey toward clarity, balance, and healing.
